Beauty on the Cheap!

Writer's picture: Beauty In BlumeBeauty In Blume

Look, beauty products can be expensive. There are a host of reasons why that sucks, but until we can fix the larger problem, let's talk about some awesome products that come with all the benefit, and not the insane price tag! Plus you can find them all on Amazon, and utilize that Prime subscription you have (or the one you borrow from your family).

These are all products I'm loving right now, or highly recommend. Some are new additions to my beauty kit, others are tried and true staples. So don't fret over price tags! Get these cheaper products and still get your glam on!

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara: a gluten free, and cruelty free alternative to many other expensive brands. I have tried a LOT of mascaras, and this one seriously packs a punch!

This kit including a mask mixing bowl and silicone spatulas, because you do NOT want to put your fingers in the jar of your mask product! This helps keep dirt, germs, and bacteria out of the product, and helps get all that skin helping goodness right onto your face.

A makeup brush set is a must have for any look, but it is important to make sure you get something that doesn't hold bacteria as easily, and that is a little better for Mother Earth. This bamboo set, with vegan brush heads, is right up my alley!

Speaking of keeping those brushes free of bacteria (which can lead to acne and clogged pores), having a good brush cleaning product is important as well. This one by Beauty Blender, who also make the ever popular blender sponge, will get your brushes squeaky clean while still adhering to cruelty free needs!

A facial mist, like this one from Mario Badescu is a staple in my skincare routine AND my makeup routine! This can be used to prep the skin, set makeup, refresh throughout the day, or even as a tool to dampen a beauty blender sponge. Hot tip, a slightly damp sponge makes for much easier blending of foundation!

Another staple product for my skincare and makeup routines is a good moisture rich product. I was using Aquaphor, but recently decided to switch things up and give a different, more earth friendly product a try. Enter the Alba Botanica Un-Petroleum Jelly. This stuff is AWESOME, and I use for everything from healing chapped hands, moisturizing and glossing lips, even healing irritated skin from whatever has caused some discomfort. If you get anything from this list, make it this product!

While it is a little bit more pricey, this highlighter stick from Thrive Causemetics is really great! Not only is the company a clean beauty brand, serving up 100% vegan and cruelty products, this stick is a multi-use powerhouse that I use every day! Use this on the inner corner of your eyes, on the brow bone, on your cheeks, and even on the cupids bow above your lip to really pronounce that pout!

A little blush is always a nice touch in my opinion! Sometimes, when I'm feeling lazy, I just put on a little mascara and blush as a quick look, and it always makes me feel fresh faced! This blush from NYX is cheap, cruelty free, and comes in a lot of colors so you can pick the best shade for you!

Finally, another one of my favorite products, is the COLOURPOP No Filter Matte Concealer. This stuff is awesome! With tons of shades to choose from, this 100% cruelty free and vegan product is VERY easy to blend. Once I got this product (and start really treating my skin right) I stopped wearing foundation for the most part. Put this on the areas you want, and blend out with a small brush (in small circular motions), or a beauty sponge.

I hope you enjoy these products as much as I do! As always, if you are looking for something specific, reach out and let me know!

Have fun, babes!
